Verifying a product: the good habits
Before buying, three simple steps are enough to make sure a product is really controlled.

Three steps before buying
- Look for the sealThe Halal Côte d'Ivoire label, or that of a partner body of the AICHA network, must appear on the packaging.
- Check the certificateScan the certificate's QR code or enter the company name in our public register.
- Read the labelFor a non-certified product, some ingredients call for particular vigilance.
On the label
Ingredients to watch
They may be of animal origin or contain alcohol. Without certification, it is impossible to know their origin.
Gelatin
Sweets, desserts, yogurts: often derived from pork or from cattle not ritually slaughtered.
Rennet
Used for cheeses: it may come from an animal not slaughtered according to the rite.
Fats and emulsifiers
Mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids: their origin may be animal.
Flavorings and extracts
Some flavorings are dissolved in alcohol.
