Check a product: the right habits
Before you buy, three simple steps are enough to make sure a product is genuinely controlled.

Three steps before buying
- Look for the sealThe Halal Côte d’Ivoire label, or that of a partner body in the AICHA network, must appear on the packaging.
- Check the certificateScan the certificate’s QR code or enter the company name in our public register.
- Read the labelFor a non-certified product, some ingredients call for particular care.
On the label
Ingredients to watch
They may be of animal origin or contain alcohol. Without certification, it is impossible to know where they come from.
Gelatin
Sweets, desserts, yoghurts: often made from pork or from cattle not ritually slaughtered.
Rennet
Used in cheese: it may come from an animal not slaughtered according to the rite.
Fats and emulsifiers
Mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids: their origin may be animal.
Flavourings and extracts
Some flavourings are dissolved in alcohol.

Report a suspicious product
Do you see our seal on a product that is not in the register? Send us a photo of the product and where you bought it. Misuse of the label is prosecuted.
